Wahlberg to star in "Transformers 4"

"Transformers 4" is set to receive a new makeover such as new logo and a new star in the form of Mark Wahlberg.

9 Nov – After sparking rumours then squashing them, director Michael Bay has finally decided that he wants to turn the internet rumours into reality by preparing to include "Ted" star Mark Wahlberg in the fourth instalment of the "Transformers" franchise.

"Mark was rumoured to be starring in "Transformers 4" and I squashed it. I had such a great time working with him on "Pain & Gain" and he gave such a great performance – well let's say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas," revealed Bay on his website.

"We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. So, I'm here to say thanks internet chatter."

Mark Wahlberg will next be seen in Michael Bay's "Pain & Gain".

Slated for a 27 June 2014 release, many changes will be seen in "Transformers 4" especially since the main star of the previous films, Shia LeBeouf, will not be returning. It is speculated that the film will feature a new female lead with a brand new cast of humans and robots. According to sources, the latest instalment will feature a female high-school student and her car-racing boyfriend.

Bay has also said previously that "Transformers 4" will most likely be the last "Transformer" movie that he will helm.

Mark Wahlberg is currently shooting Michael Bay's action comedy film "Pain & Gain", alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The film tells the true story of "a couple of Florida steroid-abusing knucklehead bodybuilders who become criminals involved in an extortion ring and a kidnapping plot that goes horribly awry," and is set for release on 26 April 2013.
