28 Feb – With the special "Celebrating Silver Gold inspire' theme, the 25th Filem Festival Malaysia (FFM 25) kicked off at South Circle, eCurve Mutiara Damansara just last night, 27 February 2013 with the works of art from local filmmakers officiated by YB Dato' Joseph Salang. The National Film Development Corporation (FINAS), had organised the Malaysia Film Festival 25 (FFM25) event and will continue to do so with the rest of the festival will take place with a much grander scale this Saturday at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre. The 'Gemilang Cipta' Awards Night featured the winners of the nominees for the 11 categories, including many wins for the movie "Bunohan", a drama action film directed by Dain Iskandar Said. "Bunohan" won three awards for Best Sound Effects, Best Visual Art and Best Original Music Score by Tan Yan Wei. Tan Yan Wei's award was received by a representative, who stated during his speech that the composer had passed away four days after creating the score. Accepting the award for Best New Director was Syafiq Yusof who directed "SAM", and NorZaidi Abdul Rahman whom accepted the award for Best Theme Song, on his work for the popular "Ombak Rindu" track.
