28 Feb – Acquiring big stars like Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti as villains are not enough for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" as Academy Award winner Chris Cooper is set to be the latest to join the all-star cast by playing one of the superhero's greatest enemies Green Goblin, according to Hollywood Reporter. Cooper, 61, is most notably known for winning Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars and Golden Globe Awards with "Adaptation". He was recently seen Robert Redford's "The Company You Keep" and "The Muppets". This time, in Marc Webb's directorial effort, Chris will take up the role of Norman Osborn, the head of Oscorp Industries, the company that turned the fate of Peter Parker around with the laboratory irradiated spiders. However, there is no confirmation on whether the actor will make a transition from Osborn to Green Goblin in the sequel yet since Spiderman is already fighting Electro and Rhino, played by Foxx and Giamatti respectively. Osborn was previously portrayed by William Dafoe, who had impressed both critics and comic fans with his encounter with Spiderman in Sam Raimi's original "Spider-Man" trilogy back in 2002.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" also features returning stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Field, Martin Sheen and new additions like Dane DeHaan, Shailene Woodley, Felicity Jones and Colm Feore.
