Disney's new "Happily Ever After"

Girl-next-door Reese Witherspoon is set to star in her own Disney film.

5 Oct – Disney's next fairy tale project will see a comedic twist. The studio has just picked up on a pitch by Nahnatchka Khan, the creator of "Don't Trust The B----In Apartment 23", called "Happily Ever After". Reese Witherspoon is attached to star in the project.

Witherspoon is also set to produce along with her Pacific Standard partner Bruna Papandrea. Smart Entertainment's John Jacobs is also set to produce.

The concept of "Happily Ever After" is about a prince and a princess 10 years after they got their so-called 'happily ever after'. The couple then discover that there is more to the fairy tale ending and they have to do some real work on their relationship if they want to keep it.

Amy Adams has also played a fairy tale princess in 2007's "Enchanted".

The idea for the film came from Smart Entertainment's head of production, Zac Unterman. John Jacobs and Zac Unterman then approached Khan, a writer they knew from working on "American Dad", with the idea.

Reese Witherspoon is currently involved with the film production of "Wild", which is an adaptation of the Cheryl Strayed memoir. She is set to star in and produce the Jean-Marc Vallee-directed drama. The film is expected to land in 2014. Witherspoon is also set to star in the Philippe Falardeau-directed drama "The Good Lie" which is also expected to land 2014.
