9 Jun – Hollywood production studios Warner Bros. have just swapped "Friday The 13th" and "South Park" franchise rights with Paramount Studios as the former was willing to give it up for Christopher Nolan's "Intersellar", so it is expected that movies for those two popular franchises will be in the works very soon. Paramount is required to make the sequels of those films within the next five years or Warner Bros. will obtain their rights back for the two films. For the 2009 "Friday the 13th" reboot, both Paramount and Warner Bros. had to share rights, so a sequel for it has not been made yet as it is largely due to the complicated rights issues.
As for "South Park", it has been 15 years since the film last saw the big screen where creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone released the "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" film that dominated the pop culture scene in the summer of 1999. The "Friday the 13th" franchise had a more consistent run on the big screens. "Interstellar" comes to theatres on 7 November, 2014 and stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan and is expected to be a big hit hence the swap between the studios.
