14 Jan – "Jurassic Park 4" has been officially greenlit with a release date announcement! Fans of the franchise and moviegoers will get to see these prehistoric giants roam the screen once more on 13 June 2014, with the latest instalment to be shot in 3D. With less than 18 months to finish up the movie (which includes pre-production and post-production work), Universal Pictures is cutting it close without an announcement of a director or cast. Steven Spielberg, who directed the first and second instalment in the franchise, had confirmed previously that he would not be picking up directorial duties for the latest sequel but will produce it instead along with Frank Marshall.
Producer Kathleen Kennedy, who is a long-time producing partner of Spielberg, was once reported saying that "Jurassic Park 4" would need a great script to get it off the ground. Screenwriters Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa, who were also the same people behind "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes" must have done a good job with the script to earn an approval from the studio. Fans who cannot wait for the arrival of the latest instalment can feast their eyes on the re-release of the original "Jurassic Park" in 3D first. The movie, in celebration of its 20th anniversary, will be released on 9 May in Malaysia and Singapore.
