Ken Watanabe in "Godzilla"

Ken Watanabe will star with fellow Japan alumni, "Godzilla".

19 March – The second Hollywood remake of "Godzilla" has officially started its reboot in Vancouver with Ken Watanabe in the mix.

The Japanese actor, last seen in Christopher Nolan's "Inception", is the latest to be announced as part of the cast list. No details have been revealed about who Watanabe will play.

But the Japanese actor's role is not the only secret one. The other cast's characters roles have been kept under wraps as well.

Previously, it was reported that Aaron Johnson-Taylor had signed up for the movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt declining the lead for the monster movie in favour of "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For".

"Godzilla" gets another Hollywood revival.

Currently, the official cast list has been announced with Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche joining Johnson-Taylor in the film. David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston will also be taking part in the film.

So far, it is rumoured that Taylor-Johnson will be playing a soldier with Olsen as his girlfriend while Cranston is his stepfather. Strathairn meanwhile, might be playing a military leader. The cast may also come face to face with a total of three monsters in the upcoming flick.

The film is slated to be released in 3D and will be directed by Gareth Edwards.

"Godzilla" is expected to storm into cinemas on 16 May 2014.
