21 May – It was reported that Chinese actress Li Bingbing has been officially cast in Michael Bay's "Transformers 4". As reported on Inside Movies, the "Resident Evil: Retribution" actress has been selected despite not attending the celebrity auditions Bay held in China recently, although her role has yet to be confirmed by the studio. Li Bingbing will be joining the cast that include Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Sophia Myles in the franchise sequel. Earlier, many Chinese stars had tried their luck on auditioning for the role, including top stars Huang Xiaoming, Chen Kun and Taiwanese American singer-actor, Peter Ho, the latter who joined the audition after requested by his fans. Meanwhile, "Transformers 4: Chinese Actors Talent Search Reality Show", a reality TV competition to cast four speaking roles in the upcoming film, is scheduled to air this summer. Although the plot of sequel is still top secret, Bay recently hinted that the movie will involve a "Chase from Hell."
