29 May – Recently, students of Sunway University, namely DPA Eleven Production, showcased their final year project, which consists of short films that saw various local celebrities involved. Supervised by theatre practitioner Mark Teh and Film and TV producer Brenda Danker, the students produced three short films and a collaborative theatre performance as a finale. One of the films is by Sharifah Aleysha, titled "Diri", about sisterhood that showcased the talents of Sharifah Amani and Sharifah Aryana, both of whom are known for their roles in Yasmin Ahmad films. Fatimah Abu Bakar, acting guru and known veteran actress in the industry, and Mike Chuah, who acted in "The Collector"; a Chinese action comedy film directed by James Lee, are among the celebrities who are participated in the collaborative film project. The other two short film are titled "Abang", directed by Ali Alasri, about two friends living off other people's misery whose bond are put to the test when they receive an unexpected gift for one of their paid jobs; and "Dual" by Er-Vinn Siew, a story of fate and coincidence centring on two police inspectors. The central theme for the three short films revolves around the nature of various types of relationships and its difficulties whereas the theatre piece touched on relationships with racial issues, gender bias issues, old folks' conflicts and issues about Malaysia.
