28 May – "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" director Bryan Singer has announced that Evan Peters is on board for the movie, which also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, Nicolas Hoult and Ellen Page, to name a few. However, Singer became caught in an internet controversy when he deleted his tweet regarding Evan Peter's role. "Before he was an #Avenger," Singer tweeted, "he was just a REALLY fast kid. Thrilled to say #EvanPeters is joining #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as #Quicksilver." This has sparked a lot of people's interest because the Tweet was sent mere days after Joss Whedon talked about using the characters Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in "The Avengers" sequel.
However, it seems that Evan Peters's Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver's only scene in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" will be a speedster-centric sequence that Singer feels only works with the character. Evan Peters is an actor best known to comic book fans as Todd in "Kick-Ass" and his roles in the TV series "American Horror Story" and "American Horror Story: Asylum". There is also news that actress Saoirse Ronan is interested in taking on the role of Scarlet Witch in "Marvel's The Avengers 2". Also known as Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch is the daughter of Magneto and the twin sister of Quicksilver in the Marvel comics. "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" will be expected to hit theatres later next year.
