18 Mar – Saoirse Ronan has come a long way since her breakout role in "The Lovely Bones", and even as the irritating Briony in "Atonement" when she was younger. Not only will she be seen really soon in Stephanie Meyer-penned "The Host" with Max Irons, she has even signed on to star in the experimental film "How To Catch A Monster", featuring a directorial debut by none other than Ryan Gosling! This lucky Irish actress will start shooting the film this May, having only recently wrapped Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel".
Described as 'experimental', Ronan explains about her upcoming project, "I think Ryan is going to be very supportive as a director, just because he's an actor as well and he gets it. From what he's been telling me about the approach he wants to take, he wants us to really discover these characters ourselves and use our imaginations to create these characters." Termed as a 'fantasy noir', the film concentrates on a single mom who is swept to a dark underworld, and her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town. Saoirse Ronan will also star alongside leading stars Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") and Matt Smith ("Doctor Who"), Ben Mendelsohn and Eva Mendes.
