25 Jun – With the success of "World War Z" in earning USD 112 million in its opening weekend, the film's star lead, Brad Pitt, is optimistic about a possible sequel. According to Pitt, he is proud of the film as not only did he star in it, but his production company, Plan B, also produced the film.
The movie is loosely based on author Max Brook's "World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War" which initially was planned to be a three-part film, however the idea was later scrapped due to production problems. However, since "World War Z" crushed even the most generous expectations in its opening weekend, Paramount's vice chairman Rob Moore revealed that they have reportedly signed on for a sequel, and plans are already in the works but that is all so far.
