"50 Shades" director found

Writer: Dzamira Dzafri

Sam Taylor-Johnson, with her actor husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson from movies like "Kick-Ass".

22 Jun – The British director who helmed "Nowhere Boy" back in 2009 about the early life of John Lennon has been chosen to direct the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie based on the best-selling smut book by author E.L. James.

While many comments regarding this news had been asking why she was chosen, a studio executive explained that Taylor-Johnson has the vision they're looking for.

"The trick of this movie is making it 'Not Porn'. She can shoot characters. She's very sexy. She can push that envelope. She shoots magnificent portraits. Not many women can handle that material. It's edgy stuff. What woman feels comfortable with dildos and sex toys and domination? One way is to immerse yourself in that world."

Felicity Jones is in the running to be Anastasia in "50 Shades of Grey".

The book's plot sees graduating college student and virgin Anastasia Steele sent to interview handsome 28-year-old billionaire and S&M enthusiast Christian Grey. He makes her an indecent proposal involving the signature of a contract to become his submissive, and she dithers about whether to accept while they have lots of kinky sex.

"I am excited to be charged with the evolution of "Fifty Shades of Grey" from page to screen," says Taylor-Johnson herself. "For the legions of fans, I want to say that I will honor the power of Erika's (E.L. James) book and the characters of Christian and Anastasia. They are under my skin too."

It is reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the director's 23-year-old actor husband will not audition for the role of Christian. However, actress Felicity Jones is in the running to play Anastasia Steele!

Universal Studios, who owns distribution rights for "Fifty Shades of Grey", is hoping to release the film by 2014 end.
