27 Oct – English actor Tom Hardy is set to ditch the grit and put on rose-coloured glasses as Sir Elton Hercules John in Rocket Pictures' upcoming film titled "Rocketman".

According to Entertainment Weekly, the 36-year-old actor has been confirmed to play Elton John in the biographical feature film, which will be distributed in the U.S. by Focus Pictures.

Described as a "larger-than-life movie musical spectacle", "Rocketman" will recap the rise of child prodigy to music legend, with Elton John to re-record many of his iconic hit songs to match the tone of the film.
