25 Feb – After much delay, "Vishwaroopam" is finally ready to see its much awaited re-release in Malaysia on Wednesday, 27 February 2013. Much controversy surrounded Kamal Haasan's Tamil spy thriller for its allegedly derogatory scenes of Muslims, such as Muslims as terrorists, which was why it was banned earlier. However, after numerous viewings and discussions, Malaysia's Home Ministry has decided to follow India's lead and re-release "Vishwaroopam", but with said scenes cut and muted. From Wednesday, 27th February onwards, moviegoers can expect to catch "Vishwaroopam" at Lotus Five Star Cinemas (LFS) who is also the local distributor of the movie whom is showing it a day before Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) and Tanjong Golden Village Cinemas (TGV). GSC and TGV is expected to start screening "Vishwaroopam" on Thursday, 28 February onwards. GSC is set to screen the movie at 1 Utama, Mid Valley, Gurney Plaza, Sunway Carnival, Berjaya Times Square, Setia City Mall, AEON Malacca, Terminal 1, Pelangi Leisure Mall, USJ, IOI Puchong, Ipoh Parade and Amanjaya Sungai Petani. Meanwhile, TGV and LFS have yet to confirm their screening locations, but it is expected that the movie will be available at most of their locations.
