Christian Bale confirmed for Steve Jobs biopic

Steve Jobs will be portrayed by Bale in upcoming biopic.

24 Oct – After previously reported to be in final talks to play the part of late American entrepreneur Steve Jobs in a new biopic, "The Dark Knight" actor Christian Bale is now confirmed to be joining the project.

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, of "The Social Network" fame, revealed in an interview with Bloomberg that Bale landed the role minus the hassle of an audition.

There was a meeting, however, and it was decided that Bale would be perfect for the part. As opposed to the physical requirements needed for his role as Batman, the 40-year-old now has to handle the verbal requirements needed for his role as Jobs.

According to Sorkin, Bale will have a lot of talking to do, even more "than most people have in three movies combined".

Bale has always been the choice for the role even back when David Fincher was set to direct the upcoming biopic by Sony, before Fincher reportedly left the project due to financial issues. ComingSoon.net reports that prior to Bale finally confirming the role, Leonardo DiCaprio was rumoured to have been offered the lead but turned it down to film "The Revenant".

This is not the first biopic to be made about the late Apple co-founder. However, last year's "Jobs", starring Ashton Kutcher, was not a success.

Bale can be seen next as Moses in Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings", to be released by the end of the year.
