21 Apr – Given the positive reception towards the 2012 movie "Sinister", it is not surprising that the film would get a sequel, and that sequel recently got its director. According to Collider, Ciaran Foy would direct the sequel instead of Scott Derrickson, and the film marks his sophomore feature film directorial effort. The director is known for his short films and his feature film directorial debut "Citadel", an Irish psychological horror film, which he also wrote.
Although Derrickson may not return to direct "Sinister 2", he co-wrote the script with C. Robert Cargill. The former added that he would remain on-board as a producer of the sequel alongside Jason Blum, who also produced the first film via Blumhouse Productions ("Paranormal Activity", "The Purge"). Meanwhile, Derrickson's next directorial effort "Deliver Us From Evil" arrives in cinemas this July. The film stars Eric Bana, Édgar Ramírez, Olivia Munn and Joel McHale as a group of people caught in a case that is related to supernatural forces.
