Denis Villeneuve to direct two films

Director Denis Villeneuve has 2 new films in the works.

6 Apr – Director Denis Villeneuve is on a roll – the last three films he worked on have won him various awards, from an Academy Award nomination for "Incendies" to Best Director for "Enemy", which puts his upcoming films on the must watch list.

Collider reported that the 46-year-old director is working on two films, "Sicario" with Emily Blunt attached to star, and "Story Of Your Life" with Amy Adams in negotiations.

Both films are described as thrillers, although "Sicario" has a Western flavour as opposed to the science fiction elements in "Story Of Your Life".

Blunt is said to lead "Sicario" as an officer from Tuscon who travels across the border to Mexico with a pair of mercenaries in order to track down a drug lord while Adams, if the deal goes through, will play an expert linguist who learns to communicate with aliens who have crash landed around the planet but she starts having flashbacks that hint at the true reason for their visit.

Jake Gyllenhaal reunites with Villeneuve in "Enemy".

Villeneuve's last two films, "Prisoners" and "Enemy", were male-driven, so it will be interesting to see his take on female-driven films. The director will shoot "Sicario" this summer, and then he'll begin production on "Story Of Your Life" in early 2015.
