Downey Jr. to return as Iron Man in "Captain America 3"?

14 Oct – Though it has been revealed that there are currently no plans for "Iron Man 4", Marvel fans may still get a chance to see Robert Downey Jr. return as Iron Man in the upcoming, "Captain America 3" after next year's "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron".

Variety reported that Downey Jr. is in final negotiations to return and don the iconic Iron Man suit in "Captain America 3" in order to bring the "Civil War" plot from Marvel's comic books to the silver screen while at the same time trigger the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Civil War" is a 2006 Marvel Comics crossover storyline written by Mark Millar and drawn by Steve McNiven. The comics have Captain America, Iron Man and Spider Man as the main characters.

Downey Jr. has also signed the deal to return as Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man in Marvel's "Avengers" franchise; "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "The Avengers 3".

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" directors, Joe and Anthony Russo will return to direct the third instalment of "Captain America" which is scheduled for a release in Malaysia and Singapore on 5 May 2016.
