7 Aug – Critically acclaimed movie "The Fault in Our Stars" is getting the Bollywood treatment. Mumbai-based Fox Star Studios is remaking the movie as they think Indian audiences will be able to connect emotionally to its storyline. "The story resonates with the emotions of today's youth and has found universal appeal," said Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios. The studio, which is a joint venture by 20th Century Fox and its sister entertainment company STAR in India, is still in the process of looking for a director as well as stars for the movie. While there are no word on the release date yet, Singh confirmed that it will happen. "The original English version was released here a couple of weeks ago and is still running. The film has done a business of about USD 1 million. We had actually thought of adapting it locally even before the film was released here." "The Fault in Our Stars" is an adaptation of a John Green novel of the same name. Directed by Josh Boone, it tells the story of Hazel, a 16-year-old cancer patient, who meets and falls in love with Augustus, a cancer survivor in her support group. The teenagers' tragic romance had moved audiences around the world to tears, so it is easy to see why Bollywood thinks the movie is fit to be remade for its local cinemas. The remake is sure to feature Bollywood's trademark big dance numbers and melodramatic storylines. "The Fault in Our Stars" opened at No.1 in the U.S. box office on Jun 6 2014 and to date have grossed over USD $263 million worldwide against its budget of USD $12 million.
