4 Dec – Walt Disney Pictures has announced the release date for its upcoming "Frozen" short film and it is confirmed that "Frozen Fever" will be gracing the big screen on the same day as "Cinderella". The animated short film will play ahead of the feature-length live action flick in North American cinemas on 13 March 2015, according to ComingSoon.net. In "Frozen Fever", Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give Anna the best birthday celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers might spell catastrophe instead of fun. To be directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the short will also feature an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. "Cinderella" is the live-action version of Disney's very own 1950 movie of the same name, with a few twists added in. It follows Ella, a servant stepdaughter whose life changes after capturing the heart of a prince.
Disney princess tales have always captured the hearts of the young and old alike the world over. Last year's "Frozen" is one of the studio's biggest hit, fans seemingly unable to "Let It Go" as its soundtrack is still played everywhere, and there is even a sing-along version of the film in cinemas. According to Box Office Mojo, "Frozen" has so far made a total gross of USD3 million in Malaysia, even getting its own Malay dubbed version for its TV premiere, and USD1.274 billion worldwide since its 22 November 2013 release in North America.
