Hugh Jackman nominates Tom Cruise for Ice Bucket

The "Pan" actor gets a bucketful of icy shower for a good cause.

20 Aug – After being nominated by "Noah" actor Russell Crowe to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, Hugh Jackman has stepped up to the call and gets 'chilly' on the set of "Pan".

The "X-Men" star did not do the challenge alone, as he managed to rope in the entire cast and crew of the movie to do it with him at the set of "Pan" at Cardington, U.K. where filming for the Warner Bros film is currently underway.

Jackman posted a video of himself along with his "Pan" co-stars Garrett Hedlund, Levi Miller and Rooney Mara replying to Russell Crowe's nomination.

They proceeded to nominate Tom Cruise and the cast of "Mission: Impossible 5", the entire staff of his talent agency William Morris Endeavors, Oscar Isaac and the whole cast and crew of "Star Wars: Episode VII" to do the challenge next.

They were then joined by the huge crew of "Pan" toward the end of the video and the group ice bucket festivity started.

Ice Bucket Challenge is the latest social media craze which aims to create awareness for Lou Gehrig's Disease and raise money for the ASL association.

It was initially seen as a media stunt where the nominated participants have to decide within 24 hours whether they want to make a donation or get cold water dumped on their heads. Now that the celebrities are joining in the viral fun, it has turned into a "pick both donate and ice bucket shower options" for the sake of both awareness and entertainment.

Not wanting to be left out on the challenge, Tom Cruise has replied to Hugh Jackman's nomination with a video of himself and "Mission: Impossible 5" director Chris McQuarrie getting eight buckets of icy cold water poured over their heads. Of course, they donated as well.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "the ALS Association as of 19 August 2014 has raised USD22.9 million in donations as a result of its campaign, compared to just USD1.9 million over the same July 29 to Aug. 19 period last year. The organization also reported 453,210 first-time donors during the campaign."
