New animes for Japanese Film Fest

10 Sep – Making its return to our cinemas is the 11th edition of the annual Japanese Film Festival (JFF) that has slated two new animes, "Initial D Legend 1: Awakening" and "Saint Seiya: Legend Of Sanctuary" this year.

Returning to Golden Screen Cinemas, the festival will commence on 11 September 2014 in Klang Valley, at GSC Mid Valley, GSC Pavilion and GSC 1Utama up to 16 September 2014.

The festival will then move to GSC Gurney Plaza at Penang from 18 to 21 September 2014.

Japanese film fans in East Malaysia are also in for a treat, as the festival will also be coming to the region, starting with GSC CityOne Megamall in Kuching (25 to 28 September 2014) and then finally to GSC Suria Sabah Mall, Kota Kinabalu (2 to 5 October).

The opening ceremony for invited guests and Cinema Online contest winners was held yesterday with the heart-warming Japanese tale, "Mourning Day".

The CEO of Golden Screen Cinemas, Ms. Koh Mei Lee who was also in attendance said, "Based on the great selection of 13 movies slotted in for this year's Japanese Film Festival, we anticipate the occupancy rate will maintain if not, improve as great content drives the admission to Film Festivals in the cinemas".
