28 Apr – Peter Jackson, the director of "The Lord Of The Rings" movie franchise and "The Hobbit" has announced that the final "Hobbit" movie has been changed to "The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies". Posting an announcement on his Facebook page, Jackson had made the switch from the originally titled, "The Hobbit: There And Back Again" to reflect the grandeur the last "Lord Of The Rings" movie title, "Return Of The King". The director wrote, "Our journey to make The Hobbit Trilogy has been in some ways like Bilbo's own, with hidden paths revealing their secrets to us as we've gone along." '"There and Back Again" felt like the right name for the second of a two film telling of the quest to reclaim Erebor, when Bilbo's arrival there, and departure, were both contained within the second film." 'But with three movies, it suddenly felt misplaced-after all, Bilbo has already arrived "there" in the "Desolation of Smaug".
Originally, Jackson had only wanted to direct two "Hobbit" movies, but with the success of the two movies, he had taken on directing the final movie as well. "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" released in and "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug" released in 2013, had grossed USD 1 billion and USD 952 million worldwide respectively. In his post, Jackson also mentioned that the editing for the final movie is almost complete and extended scenes for "Desolation Of Smaug" will be made available in the DVD with over 25 minutes of never before seen footage. "The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies" will be released in Malaysia and Singapore on 18 December 2014.
