28 Oct – Newly released in U.S, Malaysia and Singapore, horror film "Ouija" successfully strikes U.S last weekend box office and also manages to get second place in both Malaysia and Singapore weekend charts from 23 to 26 October 2014. Summing a total of USD19.8 million, "Ouija" wonderfully debuts at first place in U.S weekend box office collection while Keanu Reeves starrer, "John Wick", debuts at second place with a gross of over USD14.4 million. Falling to third place, previous weekend box office champion "Fury" grossed over USD13.3 million, losing more than USD10 million from its previous collection. Indian Tamil action thriller film "Kaththi", starring Vijay, debuts at first place in Malaysian weekend box office while supernatural thriller "Ouija" opens at second place. Also freshly released in Malaysian cinemas, Hong Kong comedy horror, "Sifu Vs Vampire", lands on the third place.
Moving on to Singapore, American war film "Fury", starring Brad Pitt, becomes the champion in the weekend box office collection. Meanwhile, the second and third place goes to "Ouija" and "John Wick" respectively. Also opening in Malaysia last week are "Dendam Orang Mati", "Love, Rosie", "Fury", "Northmen: A Viking Saga" and "Phuyal 18". Other new movies that opened in Singapore last week are "Happy New Year", "Fatal Frame", "The Good Lie", "Sifu Vs Vampire" and "St. Vincent".
Box office takings for the weekend just gone (23 October - 26 October 2014)
