25 Jul – Produced by U.K.-based Attractive Films and directed by Simon West ("The Expendables 2", "Con Air"), "Tolkien & Lewis" is a film that centers on the friendship between two world-renowned authors who were once longtime friends.
In their later years, Lewis turned into a heavily-criticised unofficial spokesperson for Christianity and this strained his relationship with Tolkien and Oxford. Now best known for his Christian-themed books such as the "Narnia" series and "The Screwtape Letters", Lewis had once turned his back to the religion. He was convinced back into Catholicism by Tolkien, a devout Catholic.
The strain on their friendship grew worst when Tolkien struggled with his "The Lord of the Rings" manuscripts for years while Lewis' "Narnia" books became bestsellers. The film is set for release in 2015.
