Bono and The Edge of U2 are to perform at this year's Oscars.

15 Feb - It seems like most of this year's Academy Award nominated original songs will be performed live for the prestigious Oscars in March, as it has been announced that nominated artists like Bono and The Edge of Irish rockband U2, Pharrell Williams and broadway icon Idina Menzel, will all be performing.

Bono and The Edge of U2 is set to perform the Golden Globe winning "Ordinary Love" from "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom", while Pharrell Williams will be performing his hit single "Happy" from the movie "Despicable Me 2".

Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will also be performing at the Oscars for her nominated song, "The Moon Song".

Idina Menzel, iconic modern broadway star from "Wicked" and the voice of Elsa from the Disney animated film "Frozen" will be performing the now cultural phenomenon "Let It Go".

"This is definitely a dream come true for me," Menzel said in an interview about her nomination. "I'm happy for the movie, I'm happy to be a part of the whole thing, and to have a song that really resonates with people is just beyond."

Demi Lovato performed the song for the movie's soundtrack, but it was Menzel's rendition from the movie that collected most of the recognition, which now has an impressive 86 million views on YouTube since December 6.

The 2014 Oscars are hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and will be broadcasted live in the morning of 3rd March in South East Asia.
