29 Jan – Titled Malaysia's League of Extraordinary Women, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh has been honoured at a photography exhibition dedicated to celebrate eight iconic women in the country.

The exhibition also features Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Sultan Iskandar, Datuk Paduka Marina Mahathir, Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood, Datuk Sheila Majid, Datuk Tom Abang Saufi, Datuk Nicol David and Ling Tan.

The women are honoured and chosen based on the passion they possessed, and for the influence they have in their own respective fields transcending time and space.

Yeoh was accorded the title "The Silver Screen Goddess".

The actress and film icon is one of the honourees.

"I think it's a great idea, especially so when it comes to honouring the women of the country. I just wished that the list could go on longer," said Yeoh about the exhibition.

She continued to say, "To me, an extraordinary woman is someone who has done something special. When I say this, it is with regard to how much they've influenced others."

Yeoh also talked about spending a good part of her visit to Malaysia with her family in Ipoh for the Chinese New Year, before flying off to Bangkok for filming a new film project, which is most likely the sequel to "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

Her acting accolades include powerhouse roles in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", "Tomorrow Never Dies" and most recently "The Lady".

The exhibition is presented by Louis Vuitton Malaysia and is open to the public at the Indulge Floor of the Starhill Gallery, which will run from now until Feb 28.
