Affleck, Garner end decade-long marriage

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announce split.

1 Jul – Rumours of the couple's marriage being on the rocks have been around since as early as 2012, but looks like this time Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's marital life has really hit rock bottom.

Just a day after celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary, Affleck and Garner announced that they were getting a divorce.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said in a joint statement, as quoted by PEOPLE. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."

The Hollywood A-list couple first met on the set of 2001's "Pearl Harbor" and later co-starred in 2003's "Daredevil". The two married in 2005 and are now parents to nine-year-old Violet, six-year-old Seraphina and three-year-old Samuel.

This was the second marriage for Garner, who was previously married to actor Scott Foley from 2000 to 2003.

Garner was most recently seen in "Danny Collins" and will be appearing next in 2016 movie, "Nine Lives". Affleck will be portraying the Caped Crusader in next year's DC movies "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad", as well as starring in 2016's "The Accountant".
