24 Sep – The silver screen adaptation of author Paula Hawkins' best-seller, "The Girl on the Train", is slowly assembling some big names as its cast. Currently, Marvel's resident superhero Chris Evans and Academy Award-wining Jared Leto are being eyed for roles in the upcoming psychological thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Evans is in talks to play Tom, the ex-husband of Rachel, while Leto is circling the role of Megan's husband. However, since both actors have their plates full, scheduling issues are hindering a confirmed deal with either of them. The titular girl on the train, Rachel, will be played by "Sicario" star Emily Blunt. Rebecca Ferguson ("Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation") and Haley Bennett ("The Equalizer") are attached to play Anna, Rachel's ex-husband's former mistress and current wife, and Megan, a married neighbour that Rachel is obsessed with, respectively.
The story of a woman's disappearance as seen from three women's point of view revolves around Rachel, a jobless alcoholic who fantasises about the couple living in a house that she passes by on her daily train ride. One night, she comes home covered in blood but unable to remember why. Horror dawns on her when she realises she may be a participant or a witness of a crime. Hawkins' novel made publishing history when earlier this year, it was number one at the hardback fiction charts for 20 straight weeks. In case this deal doesn't go through, Evans' fans can still see him in "Marvel's Captain America: Civil War", opening on 5 May 2016, while Leto's fans can catch him in "Suicide Squad", invading cinemas on 4 August 2016. To be directed by "The Help" helmer, Tate Taylor, "The Girl on the Train" is slated for release sometime in 2016. (Photo sources: allure.ru, ibnlive.com)
