"Cinderella" had a majestic opening weekend in the U.S., M'sia and S'pore.

17 Mar – There were plenty of running in the night involved in last weekend's new releases, with "Cinderella" fleeing the palace before the last stroke of midnight, and Liam Neeson forced to "Run All Night" in his new film.

"Cinderella" ultimately wins the race by placing first at the U.S., Malaysia and Singapore box office for the weekend of 12 to 15 March 2015.

The Disney live-action retelling of the classic fairy tale rakes in USD67.8 million during its opening weekend, leaving a huge gap between itself and first runner-up, Neeson's "Run All Night", with the latter grossing only USD11 million.

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" moves back into the top three, after managing to collect a sum of USD6.2 million for the weekend.

"Run All Night" makes a sprint for the top three in U.S., M'sia and S'pore.

Similarly, in Malaysia, "Cinderella" debuts and wins its crown, knocking previous champ "Chappie" to settle for second place last weekend. "Run All Night" manages to open as second runner-up.

Over in Singapore, Disney's "Cinderella" casts its magic; the princess wants no frog and has pushed long-standing conqueror of the first place, "Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen", down to third. "Run All Night" settles cosily between the two movies in the number two spot.

Other movies that graced the big screen in Malaysia for the first time last week are "Cicakman 3", "Zombies Vs The Lucky Exorcist", "I Fine, Thank You... Love You", "Whiplash", "Wild", "Barbie In Princess Power", "Katham Katham" and "En Vazhi Thani Vazhi".

In Singapore, last week's new release also include "Pitch Perfect 2", "Rajathandhiram", "Cicakman 3", "Zhong Kui: Snow Girl And The Dark Crystal", "NH10", "Barbie In Princess Power", "Asterix: The Mansions Of The Gods", "Fashion King", "Boychoir" and "Wild Card".
