18 Jun – There have been rumours going around, especially on betting sites, that "Homeland" star Damian Lewis might replace Daniel Craig as the 007 agent for future "James Bond" movies. "This is an unprecedented gamble, as for no apparent reason we have seen bets of up to £200 (USD312) on Damian Lewis being named as the next Bond," according to U.K. odds maker William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams as quoted by The Telegraph. "This might well be significant." At Betfair, a popular betting site, another spokesman said, "Damian Lewis hadn't seen any interest in the betting until this weekend, but an absolute landslide in bets has forced us to cut the odds." Other contenders for James Bond role include "Thor" star Idris Elba, "X-Men" stars James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, "Mad Max: Fury Road" actor Tom Hardy and "The Hobbit" star Richard Armitage. The online search for the next James Bond started after rumours have been going around that the upcoming Bond film "Spectre" (6 November 2015) may very well see the end of Daniel Craig's reign who had starred as the secret agent in three other films before this; "Casino Royale" (2006), "Quantum of Solace" (2008), and "Skyfall" (2012).
