New "Ghostbusters" gets a Dan Aykroyd cameo

15 Jul – Fans of the original "Ghostbusters" series will be happy to know the writer and star of the 1984 and 1989 movies is making a cameo in the upcoming reboot.

Dan Aykroyd, who created the franchise with the late Harold Ramis in the '80s, tweeted that he was on set shooting a scene from the rebooted "Ghostbusters" with Kristen Wiig.

Though he later deleted the post after about two hours, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the actor is indeed going to be featured in the movie. His onscreen role was not revealed but according to Indie Revolver, Aykroyd could be playing a cabbie, one who refuses to let Wiig's character in and even throws out the iconic line "I ain't afraid of no ghosts!" before driving off.

Paul Feig directs the reboot starring "Bridesmaids" stars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig,as well as "Saturday Night Live" comedic talents Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth is set to play the team's receptionist.

"Ghostbusters" is slated for release on 21 July 2016.
