23 Feb – Three Hollywood films are set to be shot in Sarawak, including a RM12 million film with the title "Bujang Senang", which tells of the state's legendary man-eater saltwater crocodile. All three films are to be jointly produced with Malaysia, Bernama reports. 2015 Asean International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA) director Livan Tajang said that the two other films to be shot in Sarawak are Malaysian production "Kilat", which costs RM6 million, and "Sapok Biki", produced by Moonbeam Production. A memorandum of understanding for the films to be shot in Sarawak will be signed during the upcoming AIFFA this 9-11 April, the director revealed. She added that the AIFFA gala dinner and awards on April 11 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching will be the highlight of AIFFA, with over 50 films competing for the awards. Livan also said 150 ASEAN and international film makers will be attending the festival, as well as 200 celebrities from China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, Myanmar, and Malaysia. Malaysia has always been a popular destination for Hollywood shoots; past movies that were shot in the country include 1991's "Indochine", 1995's "Beyond Rangoon", the widely-known 1999 film "Anna and the King" and 2003's "The Sleeping Dictionary" which was shot mostly in Sarawak.
