20 May – Talks of Tom Cruise reprising his titular role for a "Jack Reacher" sequel has been confirmed to be true since last year, however the movie has yet to start filming as it was still looking for the right director. In comes filmmaker Edward Zwick, according to Variety, who is currently in negotiations with Paramount and Skydance to helm "Jack Reacher 2". Zwick reportedly will also be penning the script alongside Marshall Herskovitz. If the duo accepts the offer, this will mark the second time for Zwick and Herskovitz to be working with Cruise after 2003's "The Last Samurai". The first "Jack Reacher" was released in 2012, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who is not returning as he and Cruise are teamed up for the upcoming "Mission: Impossible" movie. "Jack Reacher" collected USD218.3 million worldwide, making USD1.7 million in Malaysia and USD1.4 million in Singapore. Cruise will be seen next in "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation" when it hits cinemas this 30 July.
