14 Sep – It's been more than a decade since the last "Jeepers Creepers" terrified moviegoers everywhere, but that's not stopping director Victor Salva from bringing a third instalment to the big screen soon. "Jeepers Creepers 3" is currently in the works, according to Coming Soon, with Francis Ford Coppola back as producer. No details yet on the release date, but it is known that two of the previous cast members, Jonathan Breck and Brandon Smith, are set to return as the Creeper and Sergeant Davis Tubbs, respectively. Borrowing its title from a same name 1983 song, the horror movie franchise tells the tale of an ancient creature called the Creeper that goes hunting for human organs and body parts for 23 days on every 23rd spring. The upcoming threequel will be a new story that will address the origins of The Creeper and the reason why it does what it does. The first "Jeepers Creepers" was released in 2001, followed by sequel "Jeepers Creepers 2" two years later. Critically, the first movie received mixed reviews while the 2013 sequel received generally positive reviews. Both were commercial success, with the first movie grossing USD59.2 million worldwide and the sequel making USD63.1 million, based on Box Office Mojo stats. Production is expected to begin in Vancouver early next year.
