"King Kong vs Godzilla" may happen again

King Kong and Godzilla to battle once again.

12 Sep – Those who have watched 1962's "King Kong vs. Godzilla" (pictured) may have longed for the giant ape to battle it out with the monster onscreen once again.

Well, then get ready for an epic battle to come to the big screen sometime in the next couple of years as word has it, King Kong will indeed be meeting Godzilla again in an upcoming movie.

The news broke after Legendary Pictures' CEO Thomas Tull moved "Kong: Skull Island" back to Warner Bros. despite the partnership between the two having ended two years prior, according to Deadline.

The move from Universal was reportedly done in order to put the two monstrous creatures under the same roof, signaling a potential crossover for the two sometime in the near future.

King Kong was last seen, sans the giant lizard in tow, in Peter Jackson's 2005's "King Kong". Godzilla starred in its own movie just last year; the reboot of Toho's "Godzilla" franchise was helmed by Gareth Edwards.

Upcoming movies "Kong: Skull Island" is slated for release in North American cinemas on 10 March 2017 while "Godzilla 2" will trample the silver screen in 2018.
