Big announcement! The Looking for Alaska movie has its director, the brilliant Becca Thomas (@beccalouthomas). IT IS REALLY HAPPENING.
This will be Thomas' biggest gig to date, whose resume includes 2009's "Ivan Sings", 2012's "Electrick Children" and yet-to-be-released 2015 movie, "Las Vegas, West". "Looking for Alaska", which revolves around a 16-year-old boy named Miles Halter and a reckless girl named Alaska Young, is Green's debut novel. Paramount bought the rights for it in 2005 but waited until "The Fault in Our Stars" became a big hit before moving forward with the adaptation. "The Fault", starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, opened in cinemas last year and managed to gross USD307.2 million worldwide. Green's next young adult novel to be adapted is "Paper Towns", starring Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne, which will get its release this 23 July. (Photo source: Zimbio)
