Lupita's pearl Oscar dress stolen

Lupita Nyong'o wore the USD150k Akoya pearl dress to the Oscars last Sunday.

27 Feb – The stunning pearl gown that was worn by Lupita Nyong'o at the recent 87th Academy Awards has been reported to be stolen from the London Hotel in West Hollywood while the Oscar-winning actress was away from her room.

According to BBC News, the stolen dress was a Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein decorated with 6,000 white Akoya pearls that made the dress worth USD150,000.

After checking the CCTV footage from the hotel, the dress appeared to be lifted while the Oscar-winning actress was away from her room.

Sheriff's Lt William Nash said the dress was stolen sometime around 8pm and 9pm on Wednesday.

The Oscar winning actress for her role in "Twelve Years a Slave" was one of the presenters for this year's ceremony.

The London Hotel has given a statement saying, "This is a terribly unfortunate situation, and we are working with law enforcement on their investigation."

On the other hand, Calvin Klein has not given any comments on the incident.
