13 Jul – 2011's "Green Lantern" may not have fared well in theatres but Warner Bros. isn't backing down just yet, as it attempts to have another go at making the superhero a big movie star. The studio previously cancelled any plans of sequels when the Ryan Reynolds-starrer tanked, but now, according to Coming Soon, Warner Bros. confirms it is rebooting the green hero in a new solo movie called "Green Lantern Corps". There are no further details released. However, it is known that the movie will be part of the new DC cinematic universe, which started with Zac Snyder's 2013 "Man of Steel" and will continue with the upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice". As the name suggests, the movie could include more than just Hal Jordan as the protagonist, the door is open for Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and John Stewart to possibly be part of the more team-based movie.

Tyrese's post on Instagram.
A couple of weeks back, "Fast and Furious" actor Tyrese Gibson made two Instagram posts that show him as John Stewart and Chris Pine, who was previously rumoured to be the titular hero of the reboot, as Hal Jordan. This strengthens the theory of the movie having more than just one central Green Lantern. It is unlikely that Reynolds will return to reprise the role, especially since his 2011 "Green Lantern" barely made back its USD200 million budget, having managed to gross only USD219.8 million worldwide. All is not lost for the Canadian star, however, as he is now busy playing the titular antihero in Marvel's "Deadpool", due out in February 2016. "Green Lantern Corps" is tentatively slated for release in North America on 19 June 2020.
