1 Sep – English actor Nicholas Hoult has been cast to play the legendary American author J.D. Salinger in an upcoming biopic, "Rebel in the Rye". Written by Danny Strong who is known for writing the screenplay for both "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" movies, the biopic will focus on the younger years of Salinger, leading up to his breakthrough novel, "Catcher in the Rye". "'The Catcher in the Rye' is a classic coming-of-age story which continues to make a significant impression six generations later," said Alex Walton from Bloom who will be in charge of the international sales of the film at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival, Variety reports. "The world has long been fascinated with J.D. Salinger, whom the talented Nicholas Hoult will bring to life in this enigmatic role," he added. Hoult is best known for his role as Beast in "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past", Nux in "Mad Max: Fury Road" and R in "Warm Bodies".
