16 Oct – Ghaz Abu Bakar's action movie "Polis Evo" continues to dominate the local box office with its RM15 million collection after just 28 days of screening, according to Astro Gempak. The Astro Shaw movie starring Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak has become the highest-grossing Malay movie when it managed to beat Syamsul Yusof's "KL Gangster", which has a record collection of RM11.74 million. Entering its fifth week of screening at 98 cinemas nationwide, the action movie is still getting an encouraging reception from the audiences. The movie's winning streak started when it managed to collect RM2.5 million on its first week alone, the collection grew to RM8 million on its second week and RM13 million on its third week, placing it now at the number two spot on the all-time highest-grossing local movies list. It remains to be seen, however, if the movie will be able to beat "The Journey", the local Cantonese movie that sits firm at the top of the aforementioned list with its record-breaking RM17.17 million collection. "Polis Evo" follows two policemen with different personalities who have to work together in order to bring down a drug trafficking syndicate.
