10 Apr – English actor Daniel Radcliffe has come a long way since his wizarding days, having taken up movie roles of various kinds since the end of the "Harry Potter" series in 2011. Radcliffe is currently in talks to star in an upcoming movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter, in a starring role that will require him to step into the shoes of a game creator; "Grand Theft Auto" creator, to be exact. The role Radcliffe is reportedly circling is British co-founder and president of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, who is credited in popularising "Grand Theft Auto" into one of the biggest franchises in the video game world. The movie version of "Grand Theft Auto" will not be based on the game series, however, as it will instead focus on Houser's feud with an unorthodox Miami attorney Jack Thompson, who attacked media companies for glorifying violence in today's media, and was going after the video games industry as well.
To be helmed by British director Owen Harris for BBC Films, the movie based on David Kushner's book "Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto" is expected to begin production on 20 April. There are currently no words yet on who will be starring opposite Radcliffe in the role of Thompson. Radcliffe last starred in 2014's "Horns", directed by horror film director Alexander Aja. The film, which made USD3.3 million globally, received mixed reviews from critics. However, Radcliffe was praised for his performance as the horned lead. Fans can look forward to Radcliffe's appearances in upcoming films "Trainwreck", "Victor Frankenstein" and "Now You See Me: The Second Act".
