22 Jan – "Resident Evil" lead actress Milla Jovovich recently revealed that the long-awaited sixth instalment in the franchise is going to start filming come August. In a recent Facebook post, Comingsoon.net reports the actress was expressing her delight at not gaining more than necessary weight during her second pregnancy, as she has "to be ready to start filming "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" in August of this year". The filming was delayed for a year when in August last year, the actress announced that she and director husband Paul W.S. Anderson were expecting their second child.
Jovovich will be reprising her role as Alice in this final instalment of the series. Li Bingbing will also return as Ada Wong, who first appeared in the fifth "Resident Evil". The fifth instalment of "Resident Evil" was released in 2012. Called "Resident Evil: Retribution", it collected USD4.2 million in Malaysia and USD2.1 in Singapore, contributing to its total gross of USD240 million worldwide. "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" opens in North American cinemas on 2 September 2016.
