10 Jan – Legendary actor Rod Taylor has passed away due to natural causes on Wednesday, People,com reports. Most known for his iconic role as Mitch Brenner in Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 "The Birds", the Australia-born actor had acted in many Hollywood films as well as television shows throughout his career.
He briefly came out of retirement to play the part of Winston Churchill in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 movie "Inglourious Basterds". Taylor is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol, and his daughter Felicia, a former CNN correspondent. A statement from Felicia says of his father, "Being an actor was his passion – calling it an honorable art and something he couldn't live without." He was 84.
