Daniel Craig has shaken, not stirred the box office with "Spectre".

11 Nov – Daniel Craig returns as the top-notch spy Bond, James Bond in "Spectre". The twenty-fourth movie in the long-running espionage franchise opened first at the U.S., Malaysia and Singapore weekend box office for 5 to 8 November 2015.

The box office is definitely shaken by the superspy movie as it continues to set one record after another. Its most recent record is breaking the Guinness World Record for Largest Film Stunt Explosion, according to ComingSoon.net. A total of 8418 litres of fuel and 33kg of explosives were used in the particular scene, in which both Craig and Bond Girl, Lea Seydoux, appeared in.

The duo represented Academy Award winner Chris Corbould, who was the movie's Special Effects and Miniature Effects Supervisor, in accepting the record certificate.

When it opened on 26 October in U.K., it immediately became the movie with the biggest gross on a Tuesday, The Guardian reported, having grossed £6.3 million during its opening, beating the record previously set by its predecessor, 2012's "Skyfall".

Opening in the U.S. almost two weeks after in the U.K., "Spectre" made a weekend gross of USD70.4 million, based on Box Office Mojo stats. Worldwide, it has currently grossed USD249.9 million. The movie was made with a budget of USD245 to 300 million.

Hurray for "The Peanuts Movie"!

Another newcomer, "The Peanuts Movie", an adaptation of Charles M. Schulz's comic strips "Peanuts", opened at number two, grossing USD44.2 million. The 3D-animated movie currently only made USD50.5 million worldwide. But it still has time to make its USD99 million budget back as it hasn't opened in all territories. It will only open in countries like Malaysia and Singapore in December.

Snoopy and his gang have been getting rave reviews, but don't hold your breath for a sequel as there might not be one. Fox only had the rights to one movie and will need permission for a second movie from Schulz's widow, Jean, who, though satisfied with the movie, is in no rush for a follow-up.

"The Martian" moved down two places to number three, having finally met its match in the form of the strong newcomers. The Matt Damon-starrer grossed another USD9 million domestically last weekend.

"The Last Witch Hunter" holding on tight to third place.

Sam Mendes' "Spectre" is, of course, number one in Malaysia, pushing Vin Diesel-starrer "The Last Witch Hunter" all the way down to number three. Keeping its place at number two is still Taiwanese rom-com, "Our Times".

In Singapore, "Spectre" also opened at number one. "Our Times" slid down a spot to number two while "Goosebumps" was bumped down a spot to number three.

The only other two new movies that opened in Malaysia last weekend are "Mirip" and "Main Aur Charles".

Singapore's other new movies for last weekend are "Vedalam", "Thoonga Vanam", "Rani Padmini", "The Drop Box", "May Who?", "Rock The Kasbah", "Miss You Already" and "Stonewall".
