To fuel the hype even more, now a Tamil dubbed version of the movie will also be shown in Malaysia. The English version of the movie was released on 17 December 2015 and it has managed to collect RM12.34 million in Malaysia over the weekend according to box office figures published by BoxOfficeMojo.com. Unlike the rest of world, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will only premiere in India on 25 December 2015, hence the availability of the Tamil version here. Despite the dissatisfaction expressed by hardcore "Star Wars" fans in India, the release date push in India was done to make way for two big Bollywood movies, "Dilwale" starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, and "Bajirao Mastani" starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone which was released worldwide last week. In Malaysia, "Dilwale" opened at number three, while "Bajirao Mastani" opened at number twelve at the local weekend box office chart. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" made its debut at the number one spot. UPDATE, 23 Dec 2015: TGV Cinemas will also be screening the Tamil version of "Star Wars : The Force Awakens".
