23 Jan – After numerous rumours and speculations, "X-Men: Apocalypse" has finally found its younger versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm. Director Bryan Singer took to Twitter himself to announce the official casting, naming "Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, "Tree of Life" actor Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" actress Alexandra Shipp as Storm.
The three will be joining returning cast members Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. Also joining them will be another newcomer to the movie series, Oscar Isaac, who will be playing the titular villain, Apocalypse. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, however, will not be returning to play Professor X and Magneto, respectively. The last "X-Men" movie seen on the big screen was 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past". It opened on 23 May at number one in North American cinemas, managed to gross USD6.6 million in Malaysia, USD7.4 million in Singapore and USD748 million worldwide. "X-Men: Apocalypse" lands in North American cinemas on 27 May 2016.
