20 Jun – "Star Trek" actor Anton Yelchin was found dead at his residence in Los Angeles early Sunday, local time. Yelchin was reportedly killed by his own car in a freak accident, according to ABC News. Yelchin was found by his friends when he failed to show up for a rehearsal with them. He was pinned by his car against a brick mailbox pillar and a security fence at his home, an office, Jenny Hoiser, revealed. He had momentarily exited his vehicle but it was not yet determined why he was behind his car when it started rolling down the driveway, which had a steep incline. The actor was well known for his portrayal of Ensign Pavel Chekov in the "Star Trek" franchise, having played the role since 2009's "Star Trek", followed by 2013's "Star Trek Into Darkness" and will be seen in this year's "Star Trek Beyond". Yelchin had a promising career, rising from a TV actor to a movie star. He had been busy filming several projects due to release this year and in 2017. Apart from the upcoming "Star Trek" instalment, his other posthumous releases will include "We Don't Belong Here", "Porto" "Odd Thomas" and "Thoroughbred". He was 27.
