18 Mar – Hou Hsiao-hsien's martial arts drama "The Assassin" became the biggest winner yet again, this time at the 10th Asian Film Awards. The movie bagged the most awards, winning eight out of 15 trophies, including Best Director for the Taiwanese director and Best Actress for its lead star Shu Qi. It also broke the previous record held by Wong Kar Wai's "The Grandmaster", which previously won seven awards at the event. Meanwhile, Korean heartthrob Lee Byung-hun won Best Actor for his role in "Inside Men", while Chinese director Jia Zhangke won Best Script for his movie, "Mountains May Depart". The 10th Asian Film Awards was held at the Venetian Theatre in The Venetian Casino and Hotel in Macau on 17 March 2016.
